Divest WNEU

1. Immediately freeze any new investments in the top 200 fossil fuel industries.
2. Divest from direct ownership and any commingled funds that include public equities and corporate bonds in the top 200 fossil fuel industries within five years.
3. Reinvest in renewable energy funds.

Why is this important?

As Western New England University is working to be a more environmentally friendly university, it is a shame that we are still invested in fossil fuels. The fossil fuel industry is not compatible with a sustainable way of life and is contributing to the threat of global climate change. Renewable and alternative energy sources are clearly our future and with very little effects on our environment, they are where our university's investments should be. WNEU needs to be a leader and take an active stance for our future by divesting from fossil fuels.

How it will be delivered

Petition will be delivered in person to either President Caprio or Board of Trustees in person via a meeting.
