Divest Colorado Mesa University from Fossil Fuel Investments

Divest CMU investments from fossil fuels within 10 years, including getting all of CMU electricity from wind, solar, and clean burning natural gas, as well as converting all CMU vehicles to electric and natural gas.

Why is this important?

Carbon loading of our atmosphere is now having a devastating effect on our environment. It is wrong to continue to pour pollution into the atmosphere and it is wrong to profit from it. Financial companies such as HSBC, Citibank and the credit rating agency Standard & Poor's have now raised concerns about the financial stability of fossil fuel companies. Many institutions across the US are now divesting from fossil fuels. At over 200 campuses across the US, there are active campaigns to divest institutional funds from fossil fuel companies.
