University of New Hampshire: Go Fossil Free!
Divest the University of New Hampshire endowment from fossil fuels and reinvest in socially and environmentally responsible funds.
Why is this important?
Our communities, environment and future are threatened by rising global temperatures caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Therefore we believe our university should not be invested in corporations which are involved with the extraction, production, or distribution of fossil fuels.
According to our mission statement, UNH has a “commitment to serving the public good.” Although UNH has been a national leader in institutional sustainability, we find it contradictory and self-defeating that UNH invests its endowment in companies that threaten the future of its students and life on Earth as we know it.
