Divest City of Oakland From Fossil Fuels
Amend the City of Oakland's Investment Policy Statement to create a "Fossil Fuel Free" policy by the City, that prohibits investing any tax payer money or city employee retirement funds in the top 200 Carbon emitting companies in the world.
Why is this important?
Investment Capital has the power to combat climate change. Divesting municipal, State, University, and Endowment funds from the top 200 Fossil Fuel companies in the world will have a great impact on shifting resources toward clean energy and away from polluting Fossil Fuels. This is important to help preserve almost every living system on the planet.
