Divest Flinders University from Fossil Fuels

Divest Flinders University from Fossil Fuels

Divest Flinders University from current Fossil Fuel investments and discontinue new holdings for a five year period.

Why is this important?

We learn through university how to ensure we can develop a successful career to make the world a better place. South Australian universities currently teach students that our society can not be sustained through an increasing level of carbon emissions on a finite planet. Our uni teaches us renewable energy technologies and other strategies we must develop to ensure that our country can reduce carbon emissions. But why are universities still investing in Fossil Fuel Industries on the stock market? We want to be educated by an ethical university that practices what it teaches. We'd like to see better economic practices with how our student funds are invested in to grow our university community.
