Divest NYIT From Fossil Fuels
1. Disclose where NYIT's endowment fund is invested.
2. Immediately freeze any new investments in fossil fuels.
3. Divest from direct ownership and any commingled funds that include fossil fuel public equities and corporate bonds within 5 years.
Why is this important?
NYIT prizes itself on being a top global research and technology institution. Divesting from fossil fuels would add credibility to this institution as it would show that NYIT is forward looking and rational regarding serious energy and environmental issues.
On NYIT's web page President Guiliano is described as, "an eloquent spokesman and advocate for the environment and sustainability, global higher education, and educational technology."
