2. Divest from direct ownership and any commingled funds that include fossil fuel public equities and corporate bonds with 5 years.
Why is this important?
As a university based upon moral values, Whitworth is obligated to help protect Creation as well as to shelter the powerless from greed and exploitation. The destruction of the climate and the oceans through the burning of fossil fuels is now humanity's greatest challenge: a threat to our environment, to peace and prosperity, and to the very lives of millions. We ask that Whitworth University immediately begin divesting all its funds and endowments from any investments in oil, coal or gas companies.
