1. Immediately freeze any new investments in fossil fuels.
2. Divest the NYSTRS's holdings from direct ownership and any commingled funds that include fossil fuel public equities and corporate bonds within 5 years.

Currently, climate change is threatening the very foundations of sustainable human life around the planet. As teachers and residents of New York State, it is our responsibility to live and work in a sustainable fashion.
