Divest Taos From Fossil Fuel
In light of the extreme drought and devastating wildfires that are exascerbated by climate change that is increased by the burning of fossil fuels, we the undersigned, living in Taos County, urge the Town of Taos Council to direct the State Treasurer to divest all its local government investment pool funds in all Wall Street Banks investing in fossil fuels completely in 5 years.
Why is this important?
The people of Taos are being effected by climate change now in the form of severe droughts, extreme forest fires, invasive species, death of trees and plants and loss of top soil to increased wind, ect.
