Divest Worcester, MA From Fossil Fuels

Send a letter to the City Manager, Michael O'Brien, the Mayor Joseph Petty and the City Councilors to divest from all oil, gas and coal investment funds.

Why is this important?

We have a responsibility as stewards of our natural resources to protect them and preserve them for our future generations. Up until this generation we weren't aware of the harm we were visiting on the ecological environs. Now that we know, it's time to correct our adverse impact and pursue with fervor alternative energy sources that work with nature, not against nature and mankind.

Reasons for signing

  • Fossil fuels are a major contributor to climate change, and thus, sea level rise. Their attainment also fouls our inland and coastal waters and harms the health of many terrestrial and oceanic species.Worcester should not invest in such harmful industries.
  • I recently became a member of and became even more aware of the REAL issues earth faces in our care. My Church, has embarked on a great event lasting 50 days to begin with, planting a million trees all over the earth and teaching the care of the earth along with sending a million letters to support the earth with our congress. This is not a Bi-partisan issue. This is an issue of health and survival of man, animals and the earth itself.
